Once again The Haverhill Branch took to the streets on late night shopping night, with a barrow load of goodies, to raise money for funds to keep the home coaches running, and also to help towards a cancer appeal. The winner of the complete barrow of goodies was Steven Bailey of Castle Lane, who was very pleased to see them all turn up, filling the floor of his hallway.
Sadly, as the years go by, the adults who help – there were only four of us – all are getting on a bit, with two of us finding it difficult to stand for too long (including Father Christmas). There were four junior members helping, but it is not fair to think that they are going to be as pushy as the adults.
Our collection was well down this year: let’s hope that there are more helpers next year. Thanks to all those who turned up to help.
