Easter Egg Hunt 2016
Once again, The Haverhill Branch did their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kedington. The day started off dull but dry, then the sun came out for a glorious afternoon.
By the time the sales of tickets started at one o’clock, there were queues at both tables, and members selling raffle tickets and pick-a-stick did not stop for over an hour.
With the canteen well manned, this kept going all afternoon. Drinks were quickly sold out and had to be replenished, and bacon rolls proved to be very popular.
At the end of the day, The Branch ended up with a grand total of over £1200. Entrance fees showed that at least 600 people had bought tickets to enter.
All sections showed an increased profit from last year, that total being more than £300.
The winner of the gold block was Ellie Pitcher. She is 12 years old and lives at 12, Dove Road, Haverhill. The gold block was sponsored by Pete’s Painting and Decorating Services, here seen with the winner.
The work done by all to make this a success was a credit to all concerned and a great achievement by The Branch.
