Because our usual venue for a meal was unavailable, due to on going electricity work, The Branch held the dinner at a new venue – The Red Lion in Steeple Bumpstead. We entertained Alan Lee, Liz and Tim Edwards, and, in particular, James Hacker, from the ticket office, as a thank-you for all the work he does on our behalf sorting out our ticket requests. After a very enjoyable meal, which was well -received , we were able to relax with everyone present able to make an input to the conversation. Two younger members – Lee and Daniel – were able to ask Alan questions about his playing career, which they had prepared especially for the occasion. Alan then went on to explain how Sunday football came about, then everyone had a chance to have their say on their outstanding memories of their first football match, or some experience from their many visits to football matches. Our thanks go to our guests for putting in an appearance, and also for their work with the raffle, while special thanks must also go the landlord and landlady of The Red Lion for the excellent meal and service.
